Follow the steps in this guide if you are updating a Carousel 7 system that uses remote SQL databases, or is integrated with Active Directory
***If your Carousel 7 system uses remote SQL databases or Active Directory, it is assumed that you are an advanced Windows user and fully understand all of the components that have been customized. Support is not available to troubleshoot issues with updates on systems with custom settings without the purchase of Update Assistance, Migration Assistance, or Advanced Configuration Assistance. You will want to double check to make sure that your system is compatible with the latest version of Carousel

Start by making a backup of the following items:
- The Carousel50 SQL database
- The FrontDoor50 SQL database
- The Media Folder from TRMS\Web\Carousel\
- The Configuration folder from TRMS\Configuration
Check to see if a custom user account has been specified in the following locations and make sure you have the credentials to re-enter after applying the update:
Carousel Service Log on:
Carousel Rendering Service Log on:
IIS Application Pool Identity:
Once you have made your backups and noted your accounts in use, you are ready to apply the update
Request a Download key for the Offline Carousel installer from support@carouselsignage.com
Download it onto the application server. Launch an elevated command prompt window and launch the Offline Carousel installer in it using the flag Remote_SQL=1
This will update the application without attempting to run any SQL scripts
Once the application has been updated:

Replace the current TRMS\configuration folder with the one you backed up earlier

- Set the Carousel and Carousel Rendering service to the account previously used
- Set the IIS Application Pool Identity to run under the account previously used
- Execute the Frontdoor_populate.sql and Carousel.sql SQL scripts from TRMS\Database\Scripts against your Carousel50 SQL and FrontDoor50 databases using SQL management studio or provide them to your SQL database admin to execute
- Reboot your Server
